Ava's Campfire Synopsis
The battle continued from last week. Although the ‘Undead Alchemist Oozes(?)’ fled in terror, noise from the skirmish attracted undead from the outside, who began raining down into the basement.
The basement consisted of three interconnected rooms from the Physicker, Alchemist and Herbalist shops above, forming a long rectangle. A previously hidden ladder descended from the shop on the far left, a set of stairs led up to the shop on the far right, and a large, square hole was burned through the floor of the shop in the middle.
The nearest ladder - that was previously damaged by ‘Ooze’s’ acid - was destroyed by (name withheld)’s fire magic. The stairs on the opposite side were now the only means of escape.
Seyfried and Sal led the charge toward the stairs. Moving through the basement, Seyfried put her sparing lessons from previous battles to good use, stylishly dispatching a number of lumbering corpses. Yet in spite of her impressive skills, she was just barely outshined by Sal.
Outraged by the offensively undignified mess the toll of battle had taken on his well tailored outfit, Sal (with the aid of Poppy and the gods of dice) destroyed any zombie who dared to lay hands on his lapel.
Xalati held back, covering the rear until everyone was safely out of the first room. As more zombies tumbled into the basement, Kaisi had two clever ideas: first, he fired off his Wand of Pyrotechnics, drawing the the horde on the floors above away from the group, towards the now abandoned room. Second, he thought to collapse the ceiling, safely blocking the path behind the group. But for the this, his fire magic was just not enough. Fire would take far too long to cause a collapse…
Peach came to the rescue; with a deafening blast, she brought down the ceiling and sealed off the bulk of the undead reinforcements.
The group fled the basement and made their way towards a secluded alley, moving near silently thanks to Seyfried’s magic. Ava suggested the group look for a place near the river that might mask their sounds. Kaisi climbed onto a roof to scout a path and caught sight of a water mill. Seyfried then guided the group safely through the dusky streets and allowed the group to slip inside unseen.
After quickly securing the mill as best they could, the group - exhausted from their relentless encounters throughout the city - settled in for a night much needed rest.
