Bax, Ethan, Sav, Astarael and Vanja head out to find a way forward on the journey. They encounter an area that is clearly the territory of a large predatory animal. They find a strange abandoned nest in a cave, and a large blue feather.
A storm is coming, and the group decides to seek shelter on higher ground. They locate a safe cave, and camp for the night. Astarael takes first watch, but is strangely motivated to sit out in the storm the entire night. Despite her friends’ concerns, she claims to be fine. Better than fine!
The group becomes worried about the impending deadline for Bax to transform into the Yeti. Bax hands out sentimental pieces to each of them, in the hopes that the sight of them will bring him back to himself. Vanja insists on doing a spell to try to “cure” him, and falls unconscious. While in that state, she enters a dream - Bax’s dream, where he’s young, in Aelorean’s Crossing, with two normal brown eyes.
She revives several hours later, but the sun is setting, so Bax sets out alone while the others plan to follow after and watch him transform while hidden in the dimensional hiding hole of Sav’s. He does so, and immediately spots the hole and destroys it.
They do their best to stop the Yeti, and convince him to remember who he is, as he attempts to strike them several times. Ethan is finally successful, and Bax gains control of the Yeti form. As they recuperate, they see a feathered blue wolf staring at them, then it dissolves into lightning and flows away - the lurfang Bax was asked to hunt by the Hunters’ Guild.
