Spiders and Backpacks
The Torbjaer Mountains
39 Winter 217
Sav, Ethan, Roux, Astarael and Vanja are on a scouting mission. They eventually have to cross a ravine, where a Digsmen wagon has fallen from a makeshift bridge and been abandoned.
While attempting to cross, Vanja falls. Frost spiders appear. They defeat them, then an ENORMOUS frost spider appears - but that one is defeated as well. Sav becomes a spider herself to retrieve a fallen backpack caught in a web in the ravine, which yields a scroll case with two maps; one of Northgate with notes about collectors the Digsmen have been selling things to, and another map with a note where the mine with the Inquisitor was marked and some other survey notes, as well as a note about “same builders as ruins under city” at that mine.
After the battle, Astarael tries to pick up Roux’s lightning spear, and has a strange vision of a man on a ship named the Belree, two moons in the sky, and a shipwreck with girls and women.
The spiders yield a lot of gems. They locate the main entrance to the ruins at the end of the session, and the Harvey’s Digsmen camp.
