Sacrilege
Near Alinge’s Pass
Winter 14 – 15
Aureya and Kaisi spar with the swords they’re carrying that they’re terrible at, and Ixtalan watches judgmentally. Ava chides Ixtalan for ignoring her orders when it comes to the health of people and asks what they were doing; Ixtalan gives her the gist, and Ava opines that Xalati is more stubborn than Ixtalan. Peach and Esmund discuss Salinger and she roasts him about Ixtalan, though it takes him a while to realize she thinks something romantic was going on there. He teaches her how to make alchemical bullets.
Ixtalan and Esmund talk again about different realities and versions of people, and he tells her his tentative theory that they might be able to turn the power of the White Tower toward fixing the planes and changing it, maybe even make it habitable for the two of them. He also tells her Peach seems to think they’re interested in each other and she should disabuse her of the notion, and she suggests the best way to get her to leave Esmund alone is to redirect that energy toward another potential couple.
Fayne and Ixtalan spar, and she teaches him a few dirty fighting tricks. They decide to make a habit of it.
Kaisi and Aureya talk about the nature of gods and what each of them would represent; Kaisi is of the opinion he would represent mercy. Ixtalan, seeing them talking, pauses by Peach and artlessly observes aloud that they sure do seem to be spending a lot of time together lately.
On arriving at Alinge’s Pass, they find it beginning its preparations for the Maiden’s Blessing Day, when you’re supposed to give gifts without letting the target know. Samsel is there, having gone to Shepherd’s End and back, and given the Etch-a-Skend to Jorn and Bog and told the town about the Myrwood survivors coming. Time has somehow skipped ahead to early Winter.
