Lux?
Winter 21
They pop back into a teleportation circle in the lively, bustling city of Lux. The twilight skies and two moons are gone. A statue of Salinger and a clothing store called Morel’s attests to his stature. While talking to various vendors, Kaisi notes teal and pink-flecked irises. They buy sausages; those who eat them get even hungrier than before, they’re so good. Kaisi finds a thorn in one and, in stomping back to demand redress, gets two more from the sausage vender by way of apology.
Ixtalan notices a wizened old man with a sign that says “Don’t Trust Magic.” The group gets rooms at an unimpressive inn called the Pork Barrel, and the innkeeper says along the way to escorting Kibeth and Ixtalan to the room, “it isn’t as it seems.” Kibeth casts Detect Magic and sees everything is slathered in Enchantment, and wonders if they’re being tricked.
As she wonders this, the room swims out of existence and she finds herself ensnared in a mass of thorny vines. Other people are also trapped around her, some so cocooned she can’t tell who they are. Kibeth wakes Ixtalan nearby, who starts a fight with the thorny vine trees and the shambling plantlike beings, waking Kaisi, Peach, and Faine, while Kaisi wakes and frees Muna and another stranger.
