Aureya overhears Corinae scold Albina for spending too much time with Aureya, who’s a bad influence.
Present
They discuss how to get out, and among other options advanced, Ava mentions stories she’s heard of helpful fey beings that help lost travelers get back home.
Esmund asks Aureya for Desmun’s sword, which she’s been holding onto, and he promises her that her desires to save her sisters are still a priority and he intends to keep his promise.
They settle on Ava summoning the fey being, and a fairy pops out and says it knows one way back to the Prime Material, but there’s a big dangerous beast in the way, but will lead them there for a biscuit. Albrecht elects to accompany them.

Merciless (by Shaun McCallum)hey evade several monsters and cross a few geographical features, and as the zone turns colder approach an enormous slumbering toadlike creature. Using Dust of Disappearance, they turn invisible, grab at hands, and successfully sneak past it. Before they leave, Albrecht shoots the guiding fairy, saying he doesn’t trust anyone to know the location of Glenhollow.
With some more minutes of walking they see a cart driven by a bundled genasi couple, who say they’re seeking shelter at a temple two days south, the Temple of the Maiden Thrice. Kaisi, suspicious, burns Aureya (cutting through her fire resistance), but she doesn’t wake, and so it seems to be the real world. Ixtalan performs the same test and comes to the same conclusion, and curses.
The Etch-a-Skend shakes, the screen forming an image of villagers getting eaten by giant insectoid creatures.
