The Temple & the Between
Winter 33
Between: Flashback
Sylas hears wingbeats, feels the presence of the Angel of Doors, and senses a presence like someone they know, but slightly different. They see the Angel bend over, draw something out of a corpse on the ground, then fly away.
The Prime
After wending their way through tunnels, they end up barricading themselves in Salouis’ office against a swarm of bugs. Esmund starts altering the Door Jamb to change tears to orient on the Between. On searching the office, they find a safe, which they open cautiously after Catnapping courtesy of Esmund. In the safe are some blue crystal shards (like the head of Salouis’ demon-slaying spear) and a journal. Esmund and Ava fight briefly over the journal before opening it; it’s written in a dialect of Elvish and there are sketches of the whole crystal, a strange city, and a young tiefling girl.
The Between
Sal, Peach and Sylas have difficulty navigating through the inverted Temple, and Sylas ends up leading them to a version of the Tide’s Song. Peach tells him they did end up talking to Sav briefly, but doesn’t remember much from it, just that she sounded stressed and tired. On being asked about friends, Sylas laughs and says he had only two.
