The Prime
Suddenly the water in the room turns golden and gains a holy aura, and Esmund hears Aureya’s voice as she heals him from far away, connected by the holy waters of the temple. They manage to beat down the giant bug enough for Ava to Banish it and send it back from whence it came. Esmund grants Ixtalan’s bow higher accuracy and infinite arrows.
Aureya, who’s infused herself in the water, leads them toward the area of the portal by glowing and darting her awareness from pool to pool.
The Place Between
Sylas kills the shadow shark and talks with Peach and Sal for a while. Sal recognizes them from the previous encounter escaping from alternate-Myrwood, while they sense a bit of the thing they were pursuing in Salinger. In order to get him to talk, they threaten Peach, grilling him on where he came from and what happened to Tala. Sal tells him of Ixtalan and that Xalati was torn apart by the Angel of Doors. Sylas tells him his soul is tainted by something similar to the shark they just killed, and Sal says he’s fallen prey to something unexpected at the wrong time, wrong place, and seen things he can’t explain or understand.
After much mutual suspicion, Sylas starts leading the way to the portal back to their land.
