Tunnels in the Daggered Rise
Sav talks with Gwin, confirming the pattern they found is the same Gwin’s observed. They tell her about their own encounter with Esmund, and learn the short form of the story behind Esmund and Desmun, and tell her what they know about the aasimar. Sav shows the stone they used as a focus from the aasimar ruins in Northgate, and Gwin says Samsel’s stone is different, less opaque. She thinks it was maybe part of something bigger, a fragment of something that exploded and fell, and maybe there are other pieces that were scattered about.
A bunch of people disappear, and Peach notices for a moment pinpricks of light in the white flash and realizes there’s a depth to it, like motes of dust in a sunbeam, which almost seems to make an image or a pattern for a moment.
All currently-existing members reunite and decide to go the way Ashen and Mosrael found. Scouting leads to the discovery that the troll bowl Samsel and Velt found are the same as the troll cave Samakhael and Squire have seen ahead, but the way forward is on this level. They decide to send Samsel and Sav up high to create a distraction, while the others sneak across the ground floor to the tunnel they need and Sav will Dimension Door them to the tunnel mouth when all’s done.
They set things up and Sav casts an illusion of a dragonling patterned like Summit, which gets the attention of most of the trolls; the others start to sneak across.
