The capital city of Isendel. Vast, sprawling. Home to Sav, Carter and Mosrael.

Reached at the end of Season 12. Currently, in the 9th Era, still exists as a city-state, though the Barony of Isendel no longer exists.

Season 12 Background

Though nobility is represented by granted lands within the Barony, nearly every noble family maintains a residence in the Capital City of Galoring, the political and economic center of the barony and where the Baron(ess) holds court and residents within the Cathedral of Galoring. The City of Galoring is roughly 30 miles in diameter and shored on the cliffs against the interior crescent of the Lake of the Lost Pearl with its towns and villages sprawling for 40 miles more. The city is a place of extraordinary wealth, intrigue, and political machinations all beneath the imposing shadow of the Inquisition and the Church of the Kindled Flame.

It is said that the city was long ago divided into quarters with each a purpose, but as the city grew additional districts began to emerge to serve the needs of its people — these districts retained the title of quarters, despite the misnomer. Though there is often debate about the precise number, Galoring is roughly made up of 34 quarters when including The Cathedral where the Baron(ess) holds court. The most notable are described below.

The Cathedral

The Cathedral, though named for the prominent influence of the Church of the Kindled Flame and its architectural embellishments, is the principal castle of Galoring which sits flush against the stone cliffs that shore the adjacent portion of the Lake of the Lost Pearl and hosts a 40 foot high wall which includes towers and bartizans. The castle’s courtyard is flush with gardens where often can be glimpsed Isendel’s most influential nobility.

The Glassworks Quarter

The Glassworks Quarter is the mercantile district nearest The Cathedral and most adjacent to the interior estates of the aristocracy where the majority of the butlers and house stewards conduct business and shopping for the nobility. It is a place to purchase fine crafts, quality fabrics, and rich clothing.

The Spindlemark Quarter

The Spindlemark Theater famous in Galoring became the namesake for the Spindlemark Quarter which blossomed in the surrounding area, where those with coin to spend can find a wide variety of craft and performance, as well as some of the cities most well reputed taverns, pubs, bars, and inns. The Spindlemark Theater itself still operates and several other smaller theaters have established popularity in the area.

The Barkers Quarter

The Barkers Quarter is the mercantile quarter most central in the overall position of the city and serves as a place of commerce for the majority of traveling merchants, stall vendors, and smaller family maintained shops, along with food, lodging and entertainment.
