Vethrir Estate
Pashat
30 Autumn 218
A young blonde woman gets arrested as the suspected saboteur, while everyone else makes it back onto the ship unnoticed, the ship left unsearched and unsuspected for now. Ethan, Sylas and Aloysius discover that the woman was dragged to the jail and might be executed tomorrow. The team debates what to do, and eventually (theoretically) decide not to risk things to rescue her. Astarael confesses to Roux and Talith that she did the sabotage the other woman was arrested for.
Ethan and Warbler team up for the first time on a stealth mission to investigate Amon Vethrir’s mansion; they discover that Vethrir did indeed betray the Briarbirds two Turns ago for 500gp. Unable to get him to offer anything to atone for it, Ethan slits the man’s throat and leaves him in his bed.
Sylas and Sav decide to go watch the execution of the “saboteur” tomorrow for different reasons.
Bill Fairchild's Campfire Synopsis
So there everyone was, trying to keep their heads down, minding their own business, trying to enjoy a little down time, when out of nowhere Swans start running around raising all kinds of hell! They even drag in some girl in for questioning.
No one felt too good about some poor girl taking the fall for one of their own’s “mischief” but everyone more or less agreed that they couldn’t risk trying to help her – it was just too dangerous! They were too close to bring that kind of heat on themselves.
Well… almost everyone agreed. But we’ll get to that.
Anyway, Wizard Girl needed some supplies and turns out the best place to find it was in a local noble’s house – a noble Rich Girl kinda knew from a Briarbird mixer or something? Doesn’t matter. The point is, Wizard Girl asked Murder Boy to go steal the supplies and Rich Girl wanted him to talk to her noble acquaintance.
So Murder Boy did both.
Unfortunately, it turns out the noble was something of a traitorous coward – he took 500gp to turn on the Brairbirds and, from the sounds of things, got a bunch of them in a lot of trouble. Dead, captured… who knows? Regardless, Murder Boy – in what should be a surprise to absolutely no one – murdered the nobleman.
