Sav hides Amon Vethrir’s body by turning into an owl, flying to the estate, and stuffing his corpse into her Bag of Holding.
Talith goes rogue and breaks into the jail by being arrested for suspicion of being weird. He spirits the suspect, Nemra, out of her cell to a nearby inn room by magic. The others realize he’s missing due to a note he left Astarael, but have only just begun to search for him when he returns to the ship. Alarms go up in the city as the Swans realize their prisoners have escaped. They learn Nemra is a Briarbird who stole some supplies and is worried about the other Briarbirds in town, particularly Westerley.
Astarael attempts to slip out to turn herself in to the Swans, which Sav cockblocks with a Faerie Fire on her Invisibility. They hurriedly hide things and people away as Swans flood the docks to search for the runaways and saboteurs.

Wizard Girl was able to come back later and steal the body, but the next morning the noble’s bed definitely had a suspicious amount of blood on it. Like, he may still be alive, but if he is, he ain’t lookin too good.
In the end, Wizard Girl got her supplies plus an extra corpse – which she didn’t ask for but it was still free so, she’s got no complaints. (Editor’s note: she had some complaints.)
So, assuming they were able to, the group planned to head out first thing in the morning (on account of the murder and all). But that assumption, Mmmm… was maybe a little iffy. A couple of the pirates had overheard some sailors talkin about the Swans letting the ships go since they had arrested a suspect for the crimes, but that coulda been supposition on those sailors’ part. Who knows? We definitely never will because the Boy-with-the-Ears… oh man… Boy-with-the-ears, this fucking guy. What a character…
Ok, I can’t tell you everything about this guy’s plan. You wouldn’t believe me even if I tried to explain the steps to you. But suffice it to say, he snuck off the ship without telling the others. Then, he used magic to make himself look like an ex-girlfriend, and through a combination of confusion and seduction managed to make his (her?) way into the jail. Soon after, Earboy used more magic to teleport both of them out of the prison when the guards weren’t lookin’.
Now, you can imagine what happens next, even if Earboy apparently couldn’t - the Swans go CRAZY! They got two escaped prisoners on the loose and no idea how they got out!
