The Ruins Beneath the Earth

Yev runs back to town, having been attacked by kobolds, and finds Esmund. Esmund runs toward the ruins, asking Yev to bring his project once his mom readies it.
Aureya and Xalati, seeing kobolds come and chatter someone to the dragonborn, decide to retreat. They all hustle as kobolds begin to swarm out of the ceiling and shoot arrows.
Yev brings Esmund’s Steel Defender, Typhon, and they make their way toward the chasm. Esmund meets up with the others at the chasm and they fight their way across. Peach attempts to cross without a harness, despite Xalati warning her to put on the safety harness, but a kobold cuts the rope and she only makes it because she Misty Steps across. Kaisi stunts with a Chaos Bolt that doubles five times. They manage to all get across and cut the ropes.
An old iron dragonborn appears on the other side, old and scarred and gnarled. It notes them as they run off, back to the town that’s under attack.
