Ixtalan, Aureya and Fayne, after spotting and avoiding an enormous reptilian feline creature with a bladed tail that’s as big as a house, sneak back and meet up with the others. They make a cold camp, and Samsel tells a ghost story of the Ishie Ix, who stands behind you and steals your face; Ixtalan, seized by mischief, sneaks behind Samsel and Disguises Self to steal her snacks.
Fayne, on watch with Ixtalan, wonders if he’s offended her somehow, which confuses her; he explains that the Order of Brunnhilde is a celibate one and her constant ribbing him about Aureya disrespects the rules of their order; she’s even more confused and says wouldn’t that be more of a distraction, resisting something rather than indulging it? Fayne is unconvinced.
While traveling, they meet up with Pretty Egg Girl Muna, Poppy and the band of auronachus-folk. They don’t quite remember him, though Muna has memories “like smoke.” Salinger feels Paradox approaching; the source is probably the incongruency between him existing while Poppy and Muna don’t remember him.
Salinger says he doesn’t remember anything about performing the deeds of Alinge.
They decide little more than to avoid the big monsters, and very quickly come across new monster tracks. It’s unclear if a new portal opened up.
