How do you win against a foe that does not respect the sanctity of death?
Sever Thelonius Iscariot, moments before marching to his demise, along with the entire Order of the Pale Guard
Ashen Iscariot is a wall of a human. Close to 7 feet tall and thick with muscle, he fills a doorway and commands a room. His graying black hair is close cropped and two days worth of stubble adorns his square jaw. His voice, deep and matter-of-fact, is telling of a militaristic background to anyone familiar. And his leathery face hints at wrinkles that would become much more apparent if only he were to smile, or frown, or make any expression other than ‘dead. serious.’ His eyes are equally unreadable; near-black pupils filling the observed with the sense of ‘avoid’ but also competence, wisdom, and calm no matter how dire the situation they may find themselves in. When interacting with Ashen, he is intensely focused and decisive, whilst ever vigilant. A vague scent of roses and lavender follows him where ever he goes.
He moves surprisingly quickly and purposefully with little wasted movement despite his size and full plate armor. The armor itself is something to behold. The ornately designed raven on the front stands with its head cocked to the side; a single black eye staring at whoever stands before Ashen. Finely crafted and well cared for, this armor has seen combat, known battle, felt war. 3 major dents are visible, one on the back just above his right kidney, and two on the front, one just to the left of his heart and another 6 inches below that one. None pierced. His round steel shield is decorated with balanced scales on the front, the left pan of which looks to be cut loose due to some heavy blow from long ago that damaged the design. He carries two visible weapons. A beautiful, black war pick with its head forged into the shape of a raven’s; the beak forming the point of the pick. And a matching battle axe with blades resembling unfurled black wings. His garments beyond armor are utilitarian and unremarkable, dark colors and weather appropriate. In this winter landscape, his thick woolen cloak is a mottled gray.
