Season 13

Firbolg with brown eyes, short dark burgundy hair, mutton chops and standing nearly seven feet tall. He is meticulous about his appearance. He moved into town when he was a child, and now often works in the inns and tavern. He desires art, culture, and far-off places. He is known to be practical and well-mannered.

His mother Cheralie Morel is a singer and musician who often plays in the taverns along the waterfronts, his father Emauve Morel a dockworker. His father went off to the warfront, while his mother went missing during the pudding attack on the town.

When they captured a small auronachus, Salinger was the one who confronted and managed to tame her, naming her Poppy.

He picked up an enormous dwarven greathammer from a shrine to the goddess Brunnhilde in an alternate reality. After defeating the leader of a pack of auronachus-folk in single combat and sharing a kiss with Peach, he vanished from all memory of everyone except for Peach; nobody remembered he existed.

Later, in the town of Alinge’s Pass, which was doing suspiciously well under the circumstances and filled with legends of folks that matched up too well to the party members, it was revealed through a letter that had been waiting for hundreds of years that Salinger had emerged back in the past, around the founding of the kingdom, and after many thrilling heroics founded the town and passed down warnings of the time that they now found themselves in, along with stories of his friends. A tomb had been erected with puzzles that matched to each of them, as well as memorial engravings of those who had died in the pudding attack (which did not match up perfectly with those who had actually died in this reality).

In the Stone Tower, Esmund caught an echo of something in one of the devices Desmun had left behind and pulled out a Salinger, one that had just disappeared after the duel and not yet done all the deeds Alinge did. This is, as far as we know, the one that went on through the Breaking and into Ixadal.

Season 14

Appearance

Salinger Morel is a bulky and imposing figure even for a firbolg. He stands just shy of 8 feet tall and weighs over 400lbs (for those that knew him from the previous campaign he has grown nearly a foot, is now wider around the middle than at the shoulders, and looks much like his father Emauve, but with his mother Cheralie’s eyes). He appears to be in his early 30s, has a slate (blue-grey) complexion, long curly dark burgundy hair, warm brown eyes, and a short beard.

He has been seen wrapped in furs (making Bax question his yeti status), a sleeveless dark grey shirt, and dark umber brown pants, with matching leather boots and belt. His left arm is a prosthetic made of polished burl wood with intarsia and brass inlays; it is proportionally identical to his right arm and if not for the seam lines and materials used it would look like an organic limb. The wood and brass arm hums at a low tenor and upon close inspection the sound of whirring gears are barely audible. There is a child-like painting of a multi-colored dragon and a bright pink heart stretching from the bicep to the shoulder of his prosthetic arm. He wears no armor but has a leather pad over his left shoulder that is strapped across his chest and has clasps for some of his equipment. He generally wears multiple layers, and a heavy pale grey fur cloak, which he drops in combat for mobility. The primary weapon he carries is a 50lb ornate greathammer, which is covered in what appear to be dwarven runes etched in brass, copper, and gold. This weapon is usually covered in a linen wrap across his back, or utilized as a walking staff with the same wrap covering it.
