Welcome to Glenhollow
Galoring and the Tide’s Song
36–51 Autumn 218
Warbler and Ethan investigate Catherine’s hospital, where Warbler discovers mostly that everyone speaks well of her and there’s a cough going around, and Ethan speaks with her about the bad things he’s done and causes concern. They meet with Miriam again, where Ethan refuses to steal the item from a woman who seems to be doing only good with it, flexes about killing the Grand Inquisitor with the Inquisitor’s ring, and changes the deal to leave them (and Catherine) alone and he’ll leave her alone. She appears to agree.
Carter attempts to suss out Astarael’s heritage and plans post-Isendel, and if coming back from the dead is a possibility for the Baroness, and of her plans for education and learning for all. Astarael reveals that she doesn’t plan to go to the Octurne, instead staying behind to secure the Cathedral for the others’ return. Danica thanks Athelia for her role in her rescue, and they speak a little bit about their origins and going up to the Octurne and possible survivors. Roux plays Athelia a song in a strange AU dream he had, and the Feywild sucks them in, grounding them on a tree canopy near a village signposted “Glenhollow.”
Sav learns Reis Auldaran owns the Spindlemark Theater now and learns he’s talking to a nobleman named Lord Windervast. She finds out Swans are searching inns now looking for newcomers, but suspects she’s sliding by because her accent is local. The day comes when she’s supposed to meet up again with the Tide’s Song, but they do not respond to her Sendings and they are not there at the rendezvous point.
Day 51
Sav sneaks into the Sylas household pretending to be a messenger from the Spindlemark Theater asking for donations and inviting the resident to an event. She finds the steward of the estate, Warner, who tells her the Inquisitor hasn’t been around for a few years. She sneaks off under the pretense of a sour belly and manages to find a safe behind a painting, which she can’t manage to pick or bust open (later, she would ask Ethan to swing by and pick the lock, where he recovers letters between Sylas and Holland and a drawing of Lusira). She tries to press Warner for information about Sylas’ family, but doesn’t get anything.
