(Nov 10)
Puppy Gang
Wilds of Easvolin
Autumn 64, midday to night
They leave the survivors in Myrwood while making a quick trip to Esmund’s tower. Samsel, armed with an Etch-a-Sketch Sending Slab, volunteers to run a message with three other children to Shepherd’s End to warn them of the coming survivors. (They name themselves the Puppet Gang, after some private discussion.)
Esmund and Kibeth, after investigating the train in the trainyard, come up with plans for scrapping the existing train and creating something much smaller that would only take a week to assemble, and create blueprints for Briggs to follow.
En route, Esmund shares what he had read in the letters, of the Memento that initially destroyed realities and was fixed by Lux Gnomore to stabilize realities instead. It’s supposed to be in the capital, guarded by Queen Lil’lith.
Peach asks how Ixtalan is feeling about everything, who lets slip some of her rage that this hasn’t worked out how she thought—Xalati isn’t here, it isn’t all fixed, Kaisi was wrong—and then covers it over swiftly with a careless, well, it sucks, but it is what it is.
Aureya refuses to sleep that night, and sees a purple glow in the distance; she wakes Ixtalan up to keep watch while she investigates, but Ixtalan refuses to let her go alone. They find a patch of autumnal purple glowing land that Ixtalan recognizes as similar to a stable link to the Feywild she’d seen inthe Pale Lands. She doesn’t think it’s present enough to travel through, but it should be noted.
Back at the unwatched-over camp, the sleepers wake up to find a pack of auronachus-like humanoids, like Pretty Egg Girl Muna, ready to strike. Muna stops the pack when she realizes she recognizes them.
