Season 10 Biography
To say that Garbon has always had his head in the clouds is not entirely true. Considering his reading habits, to say he has his head in the ground would be a much more accurate statement. But there is a kindness to the boy, dutiful to his parents and generally amicable to those he encounters. But one can never hold a conversation with him for long, since to him there always seems to be something more interesting off in the distance.
Garbon was raised in relative comfort as his father is involved with money, providing for his mother and the young half-elf. This allowed for time for Garbon to pursue any passions that may have piqued his fancy. And while his interests have ranged far and wide from gardening to knife juggling, none have held his attention for more than a week or so despite his parents insistence that he commit to one. The pressure from them weighs heavy on him, but the idea of doing a single set of actions for the rest of one’s life baffles him.
What has always stuck with the youth however, is his love of books. Ever since childhood, Garbon has been fascinated with them. The look, the feel, even the smell of books delight him. Some have even said they have caught him just looking at a book in his hand for long stretches at a time, unopened. As beggars can’t be choosers, the half-elf devours the information of any book he can get his hands on. However a special sparkle shines in his eyes whenever he comes upon stories of adventure. The tales of heroes traveling all across the world to defeat the great evils plaguing it fills Garbon with a particular satisfaction. The one he is currently reading involves the tale of a carpenter destined to save a princess from an evil dragonturtle.
The path the youth travels is one of caution. Anytime his friends do something that is dangerous or against the laws of the city, Garbon seems to somehow make himself disappear into the background, dreading the moment they expect him to do the same. “Aw nah you guys go on ahead” has become a common phrase for him.
His father, Andor Tutonson, is a money lender by trade. He is generally respected by the town, despite being a rather gruff individual. With little business to be done in Aelorian, his father often travels leaving Garbon to take care of the house while he’s away. His mother, Zula Tutonson, serves as house maid for Ser Gleine. They love their only child, but have become more and more frustrated at the half-elf’s indecision. The town resents Garbon’s family somewhat due to their wealth, exaggerated by Garbon’s typical day of wandering the town with a book in his hand. If whether or not the youth is actually aware of this is a mystery. He often wanders into the Talesfast Inn to challenge Ethan to a game of dragonchess.
The Half-elf has been described as having lithe features, with a strong nose and a set of spectacles sitting before sleepy jade green eyes. His pointed face is framed with golden shoulder length curls that almost seem to move on their own. Typically he is seen with a book and some element of the passion he is pursuing at the time.
