The party continues to flee through the woods. Astarael becomes trapped in a ravine, and faces off with the Wolf. The rest of the group manages to appear around the ravine and a battle ensues. The Wolf nearly takes down Astarael, Vanja and Roux before Roux says something to the Wolf, which makes him turn on the Swans.
The Grand Inquisitor shows up, and Roux and Roland face her together, but she strikes the Wolf’s black blade from his hands—once part of the Fairchild Legacy—and kills him.
Ethan, invisible all this time, picks up the Wolf’s blade and runs the Grand Inquisitor through.
Kelwin appears just long enough to take in the scene before portaling away.
The party moves on together, while Ethan stays behind for a time with Roland’s body. No sign of Talith, Danica or Paloma.
Bax introduces himself to Astarael as Qori from Northgate, the name of one of the recently-slain Swan soldiers.
