68 Autumn 217
Danica in witch costume (by Sen Souvannavong)The members of the conspiracy come together for the first time, meeting secretively in a crypt and declaring their intent to take down the Painted Swans. Dropping masks, they reveal faces, new (Astarael, Paloma Shale, Vanja) and old (Bax, Ethan, Roux, Talith, Lumotu). Danica is an unexpected add, brought by Paloma Shale, who was recommended by the Silveruns.
Sav, hiding inside a magical hidey-hole up in the air and spying via her rat familiar Aloysius outside, waits until they’ve revealed themselves and talked about their basic plans to strike at the Painted Swans before she comes in, hands held up in the air, and says she wants to help. She mentions Emma, who told her to seek out the people at the Roasted Swan, but on finding the Roasted Swan burned down ended up tracking Lumotu back to Grammy’s Orphanage and thence to the secret conspiracy meeting, because I guess Lumotu’s opsec is terrible and/or more actually some excuse to join the conspiracy was needed OOC.
Having met at the crypt for vibes or something, they adjourn to an empty inn closed to just them, arranged by Luke Bastion, whom Ethan names as their patron and their link to the noble Houses that want the Swans gone. Various smaller conversations happen, with people catching up, and a round of awful shots. They start to figure out a cipher code to communicate with each other so they can pass messages and come together as needed, agreeing that they can’t stay together or in constant contact to avoid suspicion.
Once only the Aelorean’s Crossing survivors are present, Danica reveals that Rowen and Sireli both died in Jorung, challenging a god, while Ethan reveals that the Grand Marshal of the Painted Swans in the North, the Wolf, is actually his brother Roland Fairchild.
